A python has spent every day for a week submerged in the bird bath of a Perth man's home.
Tom Constant posted photos of the snake in his bird bath on the Western Australia Flora and Fauna Photography page on Sunday.
He said it appeared the snake had not eaten any of the local birds who use the fountain.
"Sad but natural, thank goodness our blue wrens gave warning, but there was a few new hollands [honey eater birds] dead on the ground, we think they were scared to death, she or he never went down to eat them," Mr Constant said.
"For one week, every day we got up and it was there all day submerged, went into our roof at night to warm up."
Commentator's on Mr Constant's post suggested the python may be soaking up the water in preparation to shed its skin.
